About the Building:

One of the most historically and culturally significant buildings in Chicago, The Rookery is renowned for it’s history and beauty. To celebrate a special occasion in the elegance and timelessness of the Light Court is truly a treat for every couple. An architectural icon in the center of Chicago’s downtown Financial District and considered Chicago’s oldest standing high-rise , it is one of only a few remnants of 19th century downtown architecture. The Frank Lloyd Wright renovations feature the now-iconic carved Carrara marble and intricate gold designs. Today, it is still a hidden gem as a wedding venue. The rich history of The Rookery can be a great feature to include into any facet of a wedding, and is truly awe inspiring for every guest.

Fun Fact: The Rookery Building was featured in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, where one of the lower levels was modeled as the toy store, Duncan’s Toy Chest.

About the Fabric:

The fabric that we use at The Rookery is unique to that venue. It is an organic ivory linen that is custom-made for the space. We use hundreds of these organic fabric panels just to complete the luxurious lower level draping. We make sure to take extra time and care to conserve the magnificent architecture of the space. We carefully hang each panel from the iron railings and then pleat and affix the bottoms by hand to achieve a lush, clean look that perfectly compliments the space. Because of this attention to detail, setup for each event takes around 6 hours. Over the years, we have developed a number of optional upgrades to compliment the required lower-level draping. Couples can drape the alcove at the top of the stairs, the entrance into the light court, and even the entire second level for a complete, soft and romantic look.
